Inverters convert the type of electricity generated by the solar panels (DC- direct current) into electricity that can be used in your home (AC- alternating current).
We stock string inverters and micro inverters:
- String inverters are the most economical but they are connected to the solar panels like bulbs in a string of holiday lights - when one panel fails, the whole system goes out.
- Micro inverters connect to every panel individually like a self-contained solar system. Panels can be added or removed without impacting the performance of the rest of the system.
Batteries
Adding a solar battery to your system lets you keep the excess electricity your solar panels produce during the day and use it when you need it most, such as during a power outage, at night, or when utility rates are the highest.
If you choose not to install a battery, you will use the electricity you need during the day and the excess will be credited to you by the grid.
